5 Day tour Marrakech - Merzouga - Fes

Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Dades Gorge

We will pick you up from your hotel/riad in Marrakech at 8 a.m. and will drive via the High Atlas mountains Tizi n'Tichka pass (2260mts of height). We will stop to take pictures of the impressive landscape, also we will enjoy break for coffee or mint tea in nice area. In the afternoon we will visit the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah (UNESCO World Heritage site). This Berber Kasbah which is very important place for international filmmakers and it was also one of the most important fortress strongholds on the old Salt Road where caravans brought slaves, gold, ivory, salt.

Then we will drive through Ouarzazate, the desert door. We will continue to Dades Valley through Skoura (berber villages around the valley) and we will spend the night in Dades Valley, a completely natural panorama​.

Day 2: Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge - Merzouga

After breakfast, we will drive from Dades Valley to Todgha Gorges (one of the most beautiful and impressive canyons in Morocco). We leave the Dades valley towards Tinrghir and the Todra Valley where you will see beautifulpanoramic views of the old mud Berber villages. We arrive at the Gorge and you will walk under the 300 m high red cliff (many rock-climbers come to enjoy this sport). Then we continue our trip to Erfoud and Rissani, where we will have lunch and then we drive to the village of Merzouga. Then we will drive to Merzouga where you will sleep in a hotel watching the Erg Chebbi sand sea​.

Day 3: Merzouga area and the Camel trek

After seeing the spectacular sunrise and breakfast we will visit the village of the Gnawi people, originally slaves from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle (Khamlia village). Near from this village you can see the lake of Merzouga, with its flamingos. You may also visit the nomad wire house where many Berber handicrafts are selling their product for good prices. At the afternoon you will be ready for your camel ride, guided by an experienced camel guide, you will explore sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi for 2-3hrs before spending the magical night under the stars. If you prefer you can sleep in a traditional Berber nomad tent.

Day 4: Merzouga - Rissani – Ziz Valley - Errachidia

After watching one of the most spectacular performances of the desert, the sunrise, we will  ride the camels back to Merzouga. You can take a shower and breakfast in your hotel/riad. After that, we will travel to Errachidia via Rissani and Erfoud. In Rissani you will have the opportunity to walk the authentic Souk - an assortment of vegetables, spices and dates. We will continue to Errachidia along the magnificent Ziz valley and we wi’ll stop to enjoy the panoramic view over the Ziz Canyon before we get to our hotel for dinner and sleep in Errachidia.

Day 5: Errachidia - Tizi Ntalghamt Pass - Midlet - Azrou - Fes

After breakfast in our hotel we will travel to Fes via Midlet and Ifrane. Our journey will be along the Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock. Before we reach Midelt, we will stop in Zaida, where you will enjoy a barbecue and refresh with a glass of mint tea. Then we continue to Azrou, a berber village in the Middle Atlas Mountains. Here we can stop to see the Barbarian apes in the famous Cedar forest. We will head to Ifrane “the French village”, to stop for some photos and drink before heading to Fes where this tour ends.
