Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Dades
We will pick you up from your hotel/riad in Marrakech at 8 a.m. and will drive via the High Atlas mountains Tizi n'Tichka pass (2260mts of height). We will stop to take pictures of the impressive landscape and Berber hamlets, also we will enjoy break for coffee or mint tea in nice area. In the afternoon we will visit the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah (UNESCO World Heritage site). This Berber Kasbah which is very important place for international filmmakers and it was also one of the most important fortress strongholds on the old Salt Road where caravans brought slaves, gold, ivory, salt.
Then we will drive through Ouarzazate, the desert door. We will continue to Dades Valley through Skoura (berber villages around the valley) and we will spend the night in Dades Valley, a completely natural panorama.
Day 2: Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge - Merzouga
After breakfast, we will drive drive back through the valley to see the amazing rock formation called “the monkey toes”, and the still-standing 19th century Kasbah of Ait Yul. We will leave Dades Valley towards Tinrghir and the Todra Valley where you wi’ll see panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking this valley. We arrive to the Dades Gorge and you’ll walk under the 300 m high red cliff, where many Rock-climbers come to enjoy this sport. Then we will pass Erfoud which is very known with its fossil's factories.
Then we will drive to the Erg Chebbi sand sea where your guide and camels will be waiting to carry you across high sand dunes of Morocco Sahara Desert. We will reach the desert bivouac (camping site with Berber tents) and here we will have a magical night under millions of stars. We will climb the dunes and watch the moon rise before going to sleep in a nomad tent.
Day 3: Merzouga - Ouarzazate
After seeing the spectacular sunrise and breakfast we will visit the village of the Gnawi people, originally slaves from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle (Khamlia village). Near from this village you can see the lake of Merzouga and its flamingos. You may also visit the nomad wire house where many Berber handicrafts are selling their product for good prices. Then we will start our journey to Ouarzazate the Draa valley, one of the largest rivers of Morocco. We will arrive to Ouarzazate in evening.
Day 4: Ouarzazate - Marrakech
We can visit film studios in Ouarzazate, where a lot of famous movies of Hollywood have been filmed. We will also visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, (UNESCO World Heritage site). Our journey will continue through the majestic Tizi ‘n’ tichka pass (2260 m) over the majestic Atlas Mountains. We will arrive to Marrakech in the evening for the end of the tour.
