Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Dades Gorge
We will pick you up from your hotel/riad in Marrakech at 8 a.m. and will drive via the High Atlas mountains Tizi n'Tichka pass (2260mts of height). We will stop to take pictures of the impressive landscape, also we will enjoy break for coffee or mint tea in nice area. In the afternoon we will visit the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah (UNESCO World Heritage site). This Berber Kasbah which is very important place for international filmmakers and it was also one of the most important fortress strongholds on the old Salt Road where caravans brought slaves, gold, ivory, salt.
Then we will drive through Ouarzazate, the desert door. We will continue to Dades Valley through Skoura (berber villages around the valley) and we will spend the night in Dades Valley, a completely natural panorama.
Day 2: Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge - Merzouga
After breakfast, we will drive from Dades Valley to Todgha Gorges (one of the most beautiful and impressive canyons in Morocco). We will lunch here before going towards Merzouga through beautiful landscapes and along many oases of palm grooves. We pass Erfoud which is very known with is fossil's factories. Then we will drive to Merzouga where you will sleep in a hotel watching the Erg Chebbi sand sea.
Day 3: Merzouga area and the Camel trek
After seeing the spectacular sunrise and breakfast we will visit the village of the Gnawi people, originally slaves from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle (Khamlia village). Near from this village you can see the lake of Merzouga, with its flamingos. You may also visit the nomad wire house where many Berber handicrafts are selling their product for good prices. At the afternoon you will be ready for your camel ride, guided by an experienced camel guide, you will explore sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi for 2-3hrs before spending the magical night under the stars. If you prefer you can sleep in a traditional Berber nomad tent.
Day 4: Merzouga - Fes
After watching one of the most spectacular performances of the desert, the sunrise, we will ride the camels back to Merzouga. You can take a shower and breakfast in your hotel/riad. After that, we will continue our tour to Fes through the High Atlas mountains.
We will lunch in Midelt (town famous because of its minerals). This town is a very impressive mountain city at 1488m of altitude, well situated lower down the Jbel Ayachi (3737 m). In the afternoon we will continue to the city of Fes where we finish our trip.
